Gnostic Sanctuary & Magdalene Arts Community Appeal

Members of the Saint Francis of Assisi Narthex of the Apostolic Johannite Church (AJC) are overwhelmed with excitement today, as we work hand-in-hand with Northern California Community Builders, Wells Fargo Community Lending and a network of supportive Gnostic parishes throughout the US and Canada, to realize our dream of developing a multipurpose Sanctuary and assisted living elder community in San Francisco. We are particularly thankful to Bishop +Rosamonde Miller of the Ecclesia Gnostica Mysteriorum, for working with us in solidarity and love towards the completion of our shared pastoral mission.

The Rev. Ms. Juliana Carnes, Executive Chair of the AJC Congregation of Pastoral Mission, and Board Chair of NCCB announced today that "NCCB is sponsoring the development of the long-awaited "Magdalene Arts Community," an arts-focused community for those 62 and older of limited means. Several sites are under consideration in the City of San Francisco. The Magdalene Arts Community will be a creative, life-enhancing assisted living community that focuses on elders' abilities as they age, de-emphasizing their disabilities. Great emphasis is placed on creating art, appreciating art, hosting visiting artists, and attending artistic events, in and outside the community."

The Sanctuary will be welcoming to all. It will not be restricted for the use of any one Gnostic church, but the Apostolic Johannite Church will be its steward, offering services weekly to the wider community, and providing hands-on support to the seniors living at the Magdalene Arts Community.

We ask the Gnostic community in Northern California, and indeed throughout the world, to offer special prayers and support to us as we take on this new challenge. For more detailed information on the project, or if you are interested in taking advantage of this socially conscious investment opportunity, please contact NCCB or send an e-mail to Juliana Carnes or Donald Donato (Listed on the side bar of this blog).
